There will never be a better time for qualified applicants to apply to LAPD. The city is facing massive layoffs, including police and fire. City Attorney Trutanich will not let the city spend money defending lawsuits they are sure to lose. They continue to ignore the Stipulated Settlement that sets forth what categories of applicants qualify so they are prime for a lawsuit over their failure to comply with a court order.
If you think you have GC, contact the Gun Unit and request, in writing, a copy of the Policy and DOJ Application. Yes, they will deny you. You can then appeal and be denied again. Then you can sue them for a CCW. You win and get attorney fees and some walking around money. This is of course the Reader's Digest version.
